Blackened Harissa Halibut Burgers

Serves: 6 burgers


Ingredients
2 pounds Halibut (cut into 6 equal sized squares approximately 1 inch thick)
2 tablespoons Harissa spice
2 tablespoons Brown sugar
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil (such as canola oil or olive oil)
6 Buns (the original recipe suggests Brioche buns)
1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
Juice & zest from half of 1 lemon
1/2 clove Garlic (minced)
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
TOPPING SUGGESTIONS:
Avocado slices
Tomato slices
Micro greens
Lettuce
And/or cucumber slices

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Mix the harissa spice & brown sugar together in a small bowl, then rub the mixture over the halibut pieces. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then cook for 5 to 7 minutes on one side, flip, and 4 to 6 minutes on the other.
  2. Mix the yogurt, lemon juice & zest, garlic, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.
  3. Place the sauce on the bottom bun (and the top bun if desired), add the halibut, top as desired, then add the top bun.
