Blueberry Cinnamon Oatmeal

Vegetarian!

Ingredients
1/2 tablespoon Unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups Fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons Brown sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon Salt
2 cups Water
1 cup Old fashioned oats
Milk/cream for serving (optional)
Additional berries for topping (optional)

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium high heat. Add the blueberries, brown sugar, the spices, and the salt. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Add the water and turn up the heat. Let the mixture reach a low boil, then add the oats.
  3. Lower the heat to medium/medium high and let the oats cook (stirring occasionally) for 3 to 5 minutes
  4. Serve in bowls with milk and additional berries for topping if desired
